Researchers seek canine phobia cure

Doon, the 7-month-old border collie, did not seem to approve of the needle stuck in his left leg.

He strained away from the veterinarian, but his owner, Lincoln, Mass., resident Betty Levin, held the dog steady.

The dog’s blood traveled through the needle’s tip, down a tube, and into a syringe held by Veterinarian and University of Pennsylvania researcher Nick Branson.

NOVIS: Teaching abusers how not to abuse

Not many men admit to abusing their partners, but Franklin Township resident Brad Wiley does.
“I’m very ashamed of what I did,” said the former Marine. “I got violent with my girlfriend.”

He said he always knew he had a problem, but the violent episode made him admit to it, and then he tried to find help.

It took him time and effort, he said, but he found NOVIS.
